Here are the recent news around the league.

A Young Stud to a young stud: Newsome commented about Mac Belo
Here are Chris Newsome's comments about the game of Mac Belo, "Everybody knows the kid’s talented. He’s made tremendous stride in his game...He’s had a lot of international experience and it goes a long way. He’s been around for quite some time so he’s had an experience how the PBA is like...It’s a great feat for him and he’s got a great future in front of him."

I agree that the international stint of Belo prepared him for the PBA. I don't want to talk about a great future for Mac he is already having an excellent present. He is already the main man of Blackwater and I look forward to watching him lead this young squad this season.

Determined: Gary David wants to repay Mahindra's trust

A one-point debut will usually hit the ego of a player, but not Gary David.

I believe that if you run the right play for Gary, he will be effective. Don't let him handle the ball. Give him a lot of screens and find him for a catch and shoot.

Moved on: Naka-move on na ako - James Yap
I am pretty sure majority of the fans of James Yap are still licking the wounds of the Star's decision to trade him. So, how about James Yap?
“Naka-move on na ako... Buhay basketball, ‘di naman natin hawak ang mga ganyang bagay."

Do you really believe him? I don't think he has moved on. I think, he has only accepted the decision but the hurt should still be there. When asked about his feeling in his first game with the Elasto Painters, he said, "
Parang rookie yung feeling... Sobrang excited ako for this game, excited makabalik para makatulong sa kanila.”

Working it out: Kevin Ferrer will work hard to get the nod of coach Tim Cone
Kevin Ferrer knows that it is not easy for a rookie to get playing time from coach Tim so he made this statement, "
Hindi madali makuha yung loob ni coach Tim, so kailangan pag-trabahuan ko yung playing time ko and yung trust ni coach sa akin. Kailangan ko mag-extra work sa practice."

The good thing is, he already knows what he needs to display to get the taste of coach Tim.
“Hindi ko tinitingnan yung points, ang nasa isip ko lang talaga ay dumipensa. Lalo na dito sa team namin marami kaming scorer so kailangan ma-improve ko depensa ko."

Earl Scottie Thompson went through that process too until he finally showed enough in the Governors' Cup. Kevin Ferrer has the tools to be a scary 3-and-D wing and I am confident coach Tim can bring that out from him.
