Sunday Preview and Prediction: MER-BWE, BGSM-TNT

Ginebra and Meralco will play their first games in the 42nd season of the PBA. Ginebra will face TNT who will miss the service of Jayson Castro. While, Meralco will meet the improved Blackwater Elite who won their first game.

Meralco is coming off their firs ever Finals appearance. I am pretty sure they still have the momentum but the new Blackwater Elite will not be easy to topple. We all saw them do a surgical victory against the Phoenix Fuel Masters.

I was totally impressed with the performance of Elite against the Fuel Masters. Their half court offense was really smooth but doing that against the better defense of the Meralco Bolts, will not be easy. Blackwater's defense at the backcourt will be their culprit in this game as they fall to the Bolts.

I am pretty sure the millions of Ginebra fans are excited to see the most recent champion of the league. Coach Tim Cone finally adjusted his style to fit with Ginebra's personnel and it worked. Jayson Castro will not be there again for the Tropang Texters, and if they play the same dull basketball that they did against Rain or Shine, they should not expect a victory.

Castro is not the only missing part of the Tropa in this game but they will also play without the guidance of their new coach, Nash Racela. The logic easily points to Ginebra as the logical choice here but TNT will be my pick here. The versatility of its frontline could lead them to victory.
