Globalport exploded into the scene this season with a surprising semifinals appearance in the Philippine Cup. Unfortunately, they failed to get the right imports to support them in the last two conferences.
I think we should crown Globalport as the "Paasa" team this season because everyone expected them to sustain or even surpass their semifinals appearance in the Philippine Cup but they failed to do so. In their semis appearance, Alaska schooled them with a 4-1 series.
With Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle in their backcourt, Globalport was one of the best scoring team this season. Actually, they were pretty good in getting the lead early on. One of the biggest reason of their demise in the last two conferences was their inability to defend. If you look more closely, one area in defense that they really need to address is stopping outside shots.
Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle are untouchable in their throne as the best scoring backcourt in the league today. It is pretty hard to imagine how the #1 and #5 scorer this season were able to coexist. One thing that they badly need to do is to improve their defense.
One more positive thing that we saw this season was Yousef Taha. Even though he is very limited on the offensive end, his ability to rebound is a right fit beside their twin-headed backcourt.
