SF Game 1: San Miguel VS Ginebra - Preview and Prediction

The Quarterfinals was quick so here comes the Semifinals! We will start with the battle of the #2 seed San Miguel Beermen and the #3 seed Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel.

Fans will not enter the Coliseum, expecting a gigantic match-up between Greg Slaughter and June Mar Fajardo because Greg is out due to an injury. This will be a battle of the well-oiled machine, Ginebra, against the super powerhouse line-up of San Miguel.

The TSW is depicting this as what it should be, a battle between the immovable object against the unstoppable forcer. Ginebra's defense is working wonders as shown by the Opponent FG% that totaled 9.5 out of the maximum 11. While San Miguel's offense is terrific as exhibited by their 3PTs Made and 1st Quarter production.

Key Match-up: Justin Brownlee VS Elijah Millsap
Key Stats: Rebounds
Key Question: Can Japeth contain Fajardo?

I expect both teams to revolve their offense around the imports and the two will surely face each other in majority of their court time. Rebounding will be important for both teams. Ginebra is the second best offensive rebounding team while San Miguel was the second best in total rebounds per game.

Without Greg, Japeth will be task to man Fajardo. He doesn't need to lock him down, he just need to contain him around 18 points, 10 rebounds and 50% FG.

I am going with Ginebra in this game. They have the better momentum and Scottie Thompson will be there to help them with their rebounding.
